Liyana Fizi plays a mix of acoustic indie tunes tinged with folk, bossa, and jazz. Gaining acknowledgment for her melodic songwriting, the singer/songwriter made her first debut as one of the founding members of Malaysian indie-pop band Estrella. Everyday musings and inward thoughts are the main elements of her music, using simplicity as the main staple.
Currently singing and playing rhythm guitar as a solo artiste since September 2009, Liyana performs with her permanent band of sessionists, and takes a vast interest in using music as an outlet for expression.
Background:
As singer and rhythm guitarist for her old band Estrella, Liyana together with other founding member and lead guitarist Yob, circulated the local music scene with their own brand of acoustic music back in 2006.
Numerous open-mic sessions and gigs at notable shows around town namely Moonshine, Troubadours, Doppelganger and No Black Tie followed suit, before the band decided to team up and expand with Laguna Music in January 2007.
Estrella's self-titled album was released in December 2007, and in a span of a year, the band was rewarded with 8 nominations for the inaugural Voize Independent Music Awards [VIMA].
Due to internal changes in direction for Estrella made by label Laguna Music, Liyana decided to move on upon contract expiry with the record label on 30th Sept 09, following the footsteps of Yob who had left earlier in Oct 08.

ada satu pertiga perpuluhan enam kosong dua malam yg bising..aku sekda mood....mood aku time ya pergi bersiar2 dgn rakan2 nya sambil makan angin sampe kenyang..maklum lah..budget xda..so angin jadi habuan..angin pn nyman apa.angin yang nyaman mmg nyaman dimamam..lmk aku tunggu mood aku balit.sikkjuak balit2. blom 24 jam gk nepat report ngn polis..hati semakin risau..jiwa setajam pisau lipat yang ku beli di kedai cina botak atau nama saintifik nya padang golf berkualiti tinggi..dalam bahasa endon ianya dipangil DAHI SAMPAI KE TENGKOK..mesti anda ada mcuba meletak dahi ke tengkok.haha.ops smbg cerita tadi, rumah terbakar nmpak asap,hati yang terbakar seperti hati abu bakar siapa yg tahu .nurani seorang satuper empat lelaki mbuatkn aku ingin teriak sekuat hati pergi gim.ya..hati yang kuat maksudnya hati pergi gim...ingin ku teriak menyebut SNEY KO BELI KASUT YA?!KCK EH! Well, I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. i makes mistakes. i am out of control and at times hard to handle. but if you can't handle me at my worst. then you sure as hell. don't deserve me at my best. i've made mistakes in my life. i've let people take advantage of me and i accepted way less than i deserve. but, i've learned from my bad choices and even though there are some things i can never get back and people who will never be sorry. i'll know better next time and i won't settle for anything less than everything. i don't care if you like me or not. because it's better to be hated for who you are than love for who you not. nobody’s perfect even me. i’m happy with what i’ve got. what i have now might be all that i have in my whole lifetime. i’ll never know what i’ve lost ‘til it’s gone that i believe based on experience. i think i’ll always have something or someone for as long as i want to. what i don’t realize is that if i take them for granted, they just might get sick and tired of waiting for me to come to my senses and just tell them what i should tell them instead of telling them only the things i’ve forced to say. Arghh! what ever i really utterly want to say to them, scream it to their faces. doing that is better than holding it all inside and letting them just pass me but until i realize that it’s all too late. regret will conquer me. i’ll never feel more remorseful in my entire lifetime. sounds awful ei? the only way i’ll prevent this from happening in my life is if i start to live life to the fullest and see things in a different perspective. i know, this is all oh-so cliché, but it’s all just so true. i have to keep in mind that life is like a box of chocolates, i’ll never know what i gonna get. Haha. so now, this is more than just cliché, but yet again, this, too, is true. life is too unpredictable for me to let things happen just because, every moment in my life that passes by will be a memory i’ll be wanting to return to in the future. now, all i can do to go back and relive this memories is to reminisce and try to remember what i felt exactly when that moment happened. how nostalgic. well, that is my life. that is reality. that’s just basically how things are. but that just me. and that's all i can be. you can say anything about me, but i am what i am. and that's something you can never be.
